We got up and were underway by 7:15. We were able to catch the tide so it helped us as we were going up Cape Fear River. We made good time for the first few hours.
We are now in North Carolina, actually crossed from South Carolina mid-morning yesterday.
Our generator started to overheat this morning. Darrell checked and found the impeller wasn’t working and needed to be replaced. He’s not sure we have another on board and will check tonight. We had originally intended to anchor tonight, but because we can’t use the generator we stayed at a marina.
We just missed a bridge opening by a few minutes, so we had to wait 1 hour until it opened again. Darrell used that time to get a start on the generator.
We arrived at Swan Point Marina at 4:45 in the rain. Beth needs to learn how to dock the boat so Darrell can be out in the rain while Beth stays dry.
The marina had a ships store and we were lucky enough to find an impeller for the generator. Darrell will install it during our stay in Beaufort NC.
This is probably out of the water in low tide.
How would you like this in your yard?
We think this is a statue.....or the husband was walking through the front door!
