Fuzzy and the Cormorants

Fuzzy learned about cormorants today. A cormorant is a water bird. The cormorant flies, but gets its food from the water.

It swims in the water, then dives down to catch its food. They are fish eaters and like to eat fish, small eels and even water snakes.

The cormorant in the picture just caught something and is geting ready to eat it. Do you see the dolphin nearby?

Most water birds feathers are waterproof, but the cormorants are not. S0 after fishing in the water, cormorants often dry their feathers by sitting on a pole or tree limb and stretching its wings out.

Fuzzy thinks that is so interesting. He is so excited to learn of different animals and birds.
